Thailand was always known for its coral reefs. The island of Phuket receives thousands of tourists who come to see the coral reefs that are found on the beaches here. If you want to visit Phuket to explore the coral reefs, here is the list of beaches in Phuket where you can see the wonders of nature.
Kata Beach
The beach that first deserves mention is the Kata Beach. The beach has clear water and soft sand. However, most people love it because of the coral reefs that are found in the north and south of the beach. In the north, the reefs are not much colorful but quite good to explore. The yachters find a lot of marine life here. In the south, the reef is long. The spot is ideal to view blue spotted sting rays.
While snorkeling near Kata Beach, beware of the longtail boats and ski jets. Enjoy the views of the reefs but do not touch them as they are sharp and may cause injuries.

Crab Island
North of Kata Beach lays the Koh Poo Island which is also known as the Crab Island. The corals here are better than the beach. To explore the treasure, you can swim up to the island or hire a longtail boat.
Paradise Beach
This should be next in your itinerary. Though a tiny beach near the famous Patong Beach, it is popular with tourists who visit Thailand to view coral reefs. Most people visit it on longtail boats from Patong or Karon beach. The Paradise Beach used to be a quaint place as not many people knew about it. Thus, the coral reefs were well-preserved. You can see the coral reef just running parallel to the beach. Most tourists are delighted by this coral reef as it contains a variety of corals like brain, mushroom and table coral. The reef is home to many marine animals like bannerfish, longtoms, moray eels, and Moorish idols.
Ya Nui Beach
A small and compact beach located between the Rawai and Nai Ham beaches, the Ya Nui Beach is an excellent spot to see brain corals. This beach has recently become popular with tourists and you may find it a bit crowded. However, just swim across the yachts and you would find tranquil water, lots of marine life and coral reefs.
Ao San Beach
This could be your own paradise. Located on the south west coast, this small beach is close to the Naiharn Beach. You don’t have to venture far to see coral reefs here. Just across the beach, there is a coral reef that gets visible when the water is clear.
